Client-side script -
- Site search JavaScript is client-side based which is execute on user's computer,
the advantage is any site can use it to add internal search capabilities, regardless
of the facility available from the hosting ISP.
Since it is a client-based script, the disadvantage is that the entire search engine has
to be downloaded onto the user's computer before the user can make the search.
This is not much of a trouble if the site has only 15 pages to be searched.
But when searching several hundred and even thousand of pages the script will be too large to be of practical use.

Server-side script -
- By using CGI (Common Gateway Interface) script, the search engine resides on a server, and the server passes only the
search results to the user not the entire database. It is much faster and more efficient than client-side based.
If you are not familiar with CGI scripting and the set up, the best option is remote site search hosting.
