Scripting is to write scripts containing a list of commands that can be executed without user interaction.
A script language is a simple programming language which you can write scripts.
HTML file can contain text, HTML tags and scripts. Scripts in HTML file can be executed on the Web server
if the script is of server-side script or on the client’s Web Browser if the script is of client-side script.
The popular Serve-side languages are Active Server Pages (ASP), HyperText Preprocessor (PHP), Java Server Pages (JSP) and Coldfusion (CFM).
Each one is a programming language of their own.

If you are already familiar with classic ASP, ASP.NET is backward compatible with classic ASP. If not you might want to start learning in ASP.NET as classic ASP will be faded out eventually, Thought!
PHP Hypertext Preprocessor is a general-purpose scripting language for Web development to produce dynamic web pages and can be embedded into HTML.
PHP is available as a processor for most modern web servers and as a standalone interpreter on most operating systems and computing platforms.
It is free software released under the PHP License.
You will need a PHP Development Tools, a Web server for local development before deployment, a database like mySQL and tutorials to learn if you don’t know PHP at all.

it is possible to run encrypted versions of the scripts. This allows for individuals to sell their own scripts without fear of piracy.
